We split up to get everything done and I took Marley to the pool party. It was an hour drive. Yuck! The traffic here in So-So Cal is really beyond belief. It wouldn't have taken more than 35 minutes in the "good ole days." Nevertheless, we made it there and much fun was had by the teammates and a proper goodbye given to Coach Amy.
While I was lounging around the pool with Marley, Paul was getting prepped for the birthday party. Because of the migraine, we decided to have the party at a nearby park instead of the house. No housework. Works for me. And, Paul got a new BBQ out of the deal. He bought the Weber Q Model 220. It is a nice size yet still portable grill. He's had his eye on it for awhile and now we are ready for a summer of BBQing.
I couldn't choose just a few pictures to post from the party, so I made a set on my flickr account. One treat was having the Shoemakers (my cousin Candace and her family) join us. They were gracious enough to make the drive out. Hopefully we'll be able to connect with them more often.
'Till next time,
Mary
