- I'm doing this insane blog every day thing at my vanity blog;
- I got this dumb idea to tie every post here in with a movie since I have this cinema theme going on. Sometimes it is hard to find a movie to go with the blah-blah;
- Life seems to be mostly the same-ole, same-ole.
Oh well, it has been a week since I last posted and post I will.
Marley loves Brownies, so far. She wore her vest to Disneyland the other day and asked to wear her uniform to church. On Tuesday she woke up excited it was "Brownie Day" but I had to disappoint her. Only on the first and third Tuesdays, babe.
Against her will, I signed her up for a co-ed basketball league. It won't start until December but already she is getting accustomed to the idea. I had to pick uniform sizes and the smallest is a kids medium. She is going to be swimming in that jersey and shorts.
Several weeks ago we removed every toy out of her room because of some, shall we say, less than adorable choices she'd been making. She has gotten quite a bit of it back but there is still soooo much stuff. I've got to throw some of this away. This morning found me in her room, though, removing more stuff due to her vigorous attempts to avoid socks and shoes, etc.
I've had a couple of migraines in the last couple of weeks--the latest this past Monday. I think I am still Cranky McCrankypants because of it. You can almost hear the Clint Eastwood face to face duel music playing when Marley and I look at each other these days.
Colin is doing well in school. I'm nervous about the end of the semester when he has a couple of projects due, though. He doesn't seem all that motivated to get started. What's a mom to do? He'll get it done or not and suffer the consequences. He seems pretty serious about trying out for the track team in the Spring. Paul and I would be really glad for him to do that. Good exercise, confidence builder, etc.
We are trying to make some major financial adjustments around here. Utilities are ridiculous; I've had quite a few medical bills; gas prices have floored us. The money is there, we just need to use it more wisely. We have decided not to buy Christmas presents for anybody this year--except for Colin and Marley, although they will get a much reduced Christmas haul. I hate this because I love giving presents to people but it seems like the wisest thing to do. Especially since we are trying to see if there is any way for us to get out to Oklahoma inbetween Christmas and school starting up. We did buy an artificial tree last year, so that will save a few dollars.

WRITER'S BLOCK is the story of an aspiring screenwriter who is assigned his first project; but is given only three days to complete it. Attempts to focus on the task at hand are ruined as he must contend with his friend's newest purchase, a shaky new romance, and his own delusions of grandeur...not to mention the best hallucination that coffee, sugar, and donuts have ever induced.

As soon as I have tortured, excuse me, convinced my children to cooperate with me, I'll give you a holler.
How are you feeling these days?
These pictures are gorgeous!
