Parenthood

Updated below.

The problem:

"So one of the challenges of raising ESTP's is to supply them with enough activities, friends, and excitement to keep them from becoming bored, y and mischievous." (Nurture by Nature, Tieger & Barron-Tieger, p. 218)

The solution:

Marley (our little ESTP) is now, or will soon be, signed up for:

1. Brownies. Meets twice a month plus other extra events.
2. Basketball. Appx. 10 weeks with practice and one game per week.

Still considering:

Re-enrolling in gymnastics one time per week.

Am being dragged kicking and screaming (me, not her) into:

More play dates. In the ultimate parental sacrifice, I am saying yes more and more to friends coming to our house. I've always been quite happy to pawn her off somewhere else. Now, however, I say yes to the after school get together as often as possible.

Thursday, November 9

As promised, I said yes to a play date. As I type, the soundtrack to High School Musical plays in the background and two first grade girls are playing school or family or whatever strikes their fancy in the moment.

Of course, while having her friend over kept Marley out of my hair and blissfully happy for a few hours, it didn't prevent her from getting into some mischief. What follows is the pictorial evidence of an illicit tangerine juice-making operation.

Never trust a closed door!
