Spring has sprung...

This isn't actually me... It just represents what I've been up to the past week. What seemed to be a major hay fever attack was joined in battle by a 2 day fever. Now, the aftermath has pockets of resistance still putting up a good fight in the form of continued congestion and residual coughing.

Spring is here. It doesn't seem to really be registering tome in spite of continual updates from Marley: It's Spring for two days... It's Spring for 5 days... They must be talking about this in school. I feel like she is the time lady.

Because I was sick, I didn't do much and was not too interested in what others were up to!!!! ;) A couple of highlights:

  1. Cousin Aaron and his family were in town from Arizona to do the D-land thing. We met up with them for breakfast on Thursday. Pancakes from the Original Pancake House were enjoyed by all. If you ever come across one of these restaurants, do not pass go, stop immediately for some of the yummiest yummies ever. Aaron and his wife Vanessa have two daughters, Avery and Madison. They are right around Marley's age and she loves when they come to visit. She even got to stay home from school so that she could join them for breakfast.
  2. Work day in Marley's classroom. Her school is up for the California Distinguished School certification. The whole school is being touched up and several families spent several hours reorganizing, working on the class garden and other sprucing up. The kids will be impressed on Monday, I am sure.
  3. Vegas Trip. I joined Paul on a business trip last weekend. Marley stayed with the grandfolks and Colin with a friend. It was a nice time to relax and recuperate from a busy few weeks. I'm not really a Vegas fan (major understatement) but I really enjoyed some good food, my husband's company, the hotel workout room and lazing about the room.
That's it for now... You may notice the trip ticker on the header of the page. I figured out how to paste that in. Very exciting. Colin is counting the days until he can hang out with his cousins and buy as many fireworks as possible. Paul is heading out of town for the week. He will be in and out alot the next two months. It the busy season for whatever it is he does... He'll have to explain it some time.
