Our Little Gymnast

Marley at the Fun Meet
Super Bowl Sunday
(Who picked that day for a gymnastics meet?)

Marley has been taking a weekly gymnastics class for almost two years now. Well, today she had her first practice on the Mighty Mites team. It is for s 5-7 years old and they practice two times per week for 2 1/2 hours at a time. She had a little tryout a few weeks ago and her coach thought she was ready to try it. Paul and I went back and forth about whether to do it; it is more money and 5 hours a week of practice, but she had really gone as far as she could in the class she was in. Also, because she is in a special multi-age program at school, she doesn't have any homework until 4th grade. The extra hours of practice won't be in addition to homework. That's a good thing!

Today's practice went well. She cooperated and tried everything they asked her to do from headstands to left-footed cartwheels. I could see that she is definitely in with some girls with some "skills" as Napolean Dynamite might say. I'm excited to see how she develops over the new few weeks.

Hi Mary! Cool blog! Congratulation on your anniversary - eighteen years is quite a milestone! Your marriage is officially an adult.

I feel like I don't know Marley anymore, since I haven't been in her class at church. I'm looking forward to getting to know her again!
