Ah yes... developmental milestones and rites of passage: first words, first steps, first day of school. When I knew I was having a daughter I never thought about her first black eye!The prime real estate in our house in the "big couch." For Colin, he likes it because it is big enough for him to stretch out. For Marley, the big attraction is probably just that Colin prefers it. Regardless, it was a race to the big couch last night and Marley took a knee to the eye.
We are so used to outcries around here that I didn't think anything of it when I heard Colin tell her, "It won't give you a black eye, Marley." He's said it to her before and she's never had a black eye before. When I finally took a look at it when she wouldn't stop crying. Ouch! That was going to leave a mark. I don't know if this is an official black eye but that's what we are calling it.
